Online Neo-Adjuvant Guide FAQs
-
I have finished the guide and still don’t know what treatment is best for me. What should I do now?
The Online Neoadjuvant Patient Decision aid is here to help inform you of your treatment choices. The decision about your treatment should be made in consultation with your treatment team which may include your surgeon, oncologist, and breast care nurse. You may also wish to speak to your local doctor, family and friends. The Decision Aid can also be shown to those people to help them understand the options.
Don’t worry if you haven’t come to a decision after finishing this guide. Hopefully, you are now more informed about your options and have lots of questions to bring to your next appointment with your doctor/s and treatment team.

There is a term I don’t understand, where can I find out more?
There is a glossary which can help explain unfamiliar terms you may come across in the guide.
If you are still unsure, we suggest making a note of the term and asking your doctor or breast care nurse in your next appointment. There is the ability within the decision aid to make notes and to email them to yourself as a record.

I don’t know what kind of breast cancer I have; so how should I answer these questions in the online guide?
Your doctor will tell you what type of breast cancer you have. However, if you are unsure, you can just answer ‘I don’t know’ to these questions. You will then be shown all the information in the guide. This means the information will be less personalised, but you will not miss out on any information by not answering this question.
